Mother’s Day Booklet – Is there a special woman in your life that you would like to honor?  Perhaps your mom or grandmother, or an aunt or god mother or just a special lady who has inspired your life and faith? Consider putting her name in our Mother’s Day Booklet. All contributions to this project will help send youth from our church the ELCA’s National Youth Gathering. We need your mother’s name, a 2-3 sentence message for/about her, her favorite flower (so we can put a picture of it), and $10. You can pay this amount by cash, check, or online, but please make sure to put a memo that it is for the “Mother’s Day Booklet”. Send your details to Emily@firstlutherangalveston.com

THANK YOU! Feed Galveston packaged over 50,000 servings of healthy and nutritious food for our neighbors in need. Because of your generosity through contributions to Feed Galveston and volunteering neighbors in need will have food to eat. If you would like to keep making a difference, please contribute toward our next Feed Galveston packaging event (hopefully to be held in September). Every dollar donated supports this mission!

The Mission Team is offering you an opportunity to help a very special group here on Galveston Island. Since 1953, the Sunshine Center has served individuals with developmental disabilities, with a focus on the motto " disability does not mean inability ".

We are again partnering with them to supply their clients with needed art supplies. Their wish list contains basic items that can be picked up at the grocery store or Walmart. Monetary gifts will be used to purchase specialty items for art, ceramic and exercise classes. Checks can be made out to First Lutheran with Sunshine Center in the memo line. Art supplies can be dropped off at church in the designated boxes from April 4th to May 9th

Worship Virtually – Sundays 10:00 am

Worship Safely In Person – Sundays 10:00 am

You are encouraged to join in worship either safely in person or virtually every Sunday.

Mask Up!
As the pandemic continues to churn in our world, First Lutheran continues to require that masks be worn and kept on during worship services or other events at the church. Those leading worship in chancel will removed their masks while speaking so as to provide clear communication for both those worshipping in person and those on line. Otherwise, everyone is required to keep their mask over their mouth and nose. Please be vigilant and encouraging to one another in observing this for the safety of all. The reality is that case numbers are rising – hopefully we can help lower those numbers and keep things moving.

HOME Holy Communion Package: If you need home communion supplies as you worship virtually, please contact the Church Office as 409-762-8477 to arrange for your package of wafers.

Help The Massai! In helping others to get an education to better themselves, The Mission Team, is asking you to help girls in Massai with donations to pay for their school fees. The cost is $600 per student. Attending school keeps these girls, at an early age, from being given into marriage by their fathers for something in return. Naomi graduated in Tanzania because of your generosity. If you can donate any amount, this will help these girls achieve their dreams. Brandi will be accepting our donations in the church office.  We can make a difference in others’ futures.  Thank you!!
