Living With Extravagant Love

Recognizing Jesus as the Son of God, Mary anointed Jesus with the most expensive perfume in the world. Judas, on the other hand, wanted Jesus to be the leader of the Jews and overthrow the Romans to drive them out of his country so he could be politically free. Mary, however, was freed of her personal concerns by the love of Jesus. We have tremendous opportunities to live out our faith with love to others. Jesus said, "Whatever you have done to the least of these, you have done unto me."

The Story of the Amazing Father

Like the amazing father in the story of the Prodigal Son, we are welcomed home to God because we are sons and daughters of His great family and He loves us. God receives us with open arms, forgives us, and reconciles us - all through our belief in Jesus. Come home, and welcome others!

Turn Your Ear and Tune In to God

Take a look around, see what is going on and have a change of mind and heart in knowing that God loves you and each one of us. Jesus provides grace upon grace, continually calling us to listen and act and speak of the boundless love and hope He has for us. As children of God, we are called to love God, our neighbors, and ourselves. We have so much to be thankful for, thanks be to God.

Be Who You Really Are

Temptation is often a very subtle urge to act or speak to "gain" or "become" something that we do not really need. As believers who are are baptized in the water and Word and are beloved children of God, let us ask ourselves, where are we being misled, or where might God be calling us to go or become? On this day we remember St. Patrick, who was captured by pirates and taken from his Britain homeland and enslaved in Ireland. Years later after gaining freedom, he decided to return to Ireland where he spread Christianity and formed over 300 churches. Through prayer and introspection, he found his calling.

Sermon: Jesus Speaks God's Word Faithfully

Our Lord Jesus understands our temptations, because He too was tempted by the sly devil who could quote scripture in an effort to pull Jesus away from doing the will of His Father. But Jesus stayed with who He is as anbaptized believer. We too, belong to God and are children of God and we are called to be who we are in Christ. Jesus knows and understands our temptations. During this season of Lent, talk to Him in prayer and read God's word and live and love for God.
