Oktoberfest Sign Up Sheets are in the Narthex.  There is something for everyone.  If you don't want to be in the crowds, we have a kitchen job that would keep you inside. If you need a sit down job, Ticket Booths and Kids Area could use your help. The Food Booth is going to need a lot of volunteers.  The Beer Booth is fast paced and is always a fun time. Take a moment to sign up as we cannot to Oktoberfest without you.  

Fanfare Donations needed! Kelsey is in need of old newspaper, old magazines, and aluminum foil if anyone has these items laying around.  She plans to use these for her art class.

FLY (First Lutheran Youth) gathering! Middle and High school youth are invited to join bible study and games on September 26th from 3-5PM. We will meet in the fellowship hall. Please RSVP to emily@firstlutherangalveston.com 

Join the Joyful Noise Music Ministry! Looking for something new in the fall? Consider giving Joyful Noise a try! We are looking for new singers and instrumentalists to join our ministry! We welcome beginners to experts, the young and the young at heart and everyone in between!

  • Sing with the choir! We rehearse after the worship service on certain Sundays
  • Play with the strings group! We practice before worship on certain Sundays
  • Ring with the Handbell Choir! We practice on Sunday afternoons.

*NEW to FALL 2021* Joyful Noise Junior is open to kids ages 8-16! We will rehearse once a month and lead the worship service! We will present a combination of singing and instrument playing! Ladies Game Day - As so much fun was had on August 10th, we are going to continue the fun on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. All ladies are welcome and you can bring a friend.  If you need a ride contact Kay Tucker.  

Wednesday Evening Worship Starting on Wednesday, September 15, a midweek worship service with Holy Communion will be offered in the sanctuary. The congregational survey from this summer indicated more supported a midweek evening worship than any other evening. Come and try it out! Gather with your church family in worship - midweek.

Update!
The Church Council reviewed the COVID-19 numbers for Galveston and Galveston County and re-issued the requirement of wearing masks in the church buildings. This change reflects that we are in the midst of a severe spike in the pandemic and that our local medical systems are stressed by the current surge. Please be mindful of the most vulnerable in our midst, as children under the age of 12 are not eligible for the vaccine at this time.
