Join us at First for a traditional service with island flair.

At FLC, we engage in some truly exciting activities. Here are just a few of the distinctive events we offer. From Polka to Pentecost, we shine brightly on Galveston Island.

Annual Oktoberfest Polka Service

The Oktoberfest Polka service stands out as one of the most distinctive experiences on the Island! The Sunday after Oktoberfest is alive with tubas and hymns sung to lively Polka tunes. Don your dirndl and lederhosen for an enjoyable and festive service! We often have special musical guests such as the New Braunfels Gemischter Chor Harmonie and the Tubameisters!

Fanfare Sunday

Hooray! Fanfare Sunday arrives just once a year as the students from the Fanfare Lutheran Music Academy showcase their talents through music and dance during the service.

Lent and Easter Services

Midweek Lent services are held as a supper service in the Parish Hall.

Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter services are held in the Sanctuary.
