In-Person Worship Has Resumed Join us for in-person worship Sundays at 10:00 am or at 5:30 pm. Our ON-LINE worship is also available. As with our re-opening earlier this summer, the Church Council will keep watch on COVID-19 case numbers and should our area re-enter into a spike, the Church Council will do what is best for our community. When returning to in-person worship everyone will need to follow the following practices:
- If you are not feeling well or have a fever – remain at home!
- Sanitize your hands at the entrance of the building.
- Wear a mask/face-covering at all times (except when moving it to receive Holy Communion).
- Socially distance and refrain from all hand shaking or hugging.
We look forward to seeing you in person when you are ready to return!

Let’s Talk – Exploring Racial Justice as God’s People Jesus noticed those on the edges of society – Jesus welcomed the powerless and the vulnerable—Jesus showed God’s heart toward all people. Yet, racial issues continue – including in our nation. One of the key paths forward is honest listening and reflection. If you would like to be part of such an effort, join Pastor Rhoades in a book study of “I’m Still Here: Black Dignity in a World Made for Whiteness” by Austin Channing Brown. The group will read the book and gather for six discussion sessions. The hope for goal is expanding our understanding for the sake of following the path of Jesus’ love in a difficult world. SIGN UP today to order your copy of the book for $20 and to participate. The group will begin on October 4, at 4:00 pm.
Kids' Mission All elementary aged kids are invited to join in Secret Agent of God training. At the end of each lesson, your Agent will be given a top secret mission that will help make the world a better place. If you have questions or would like a TOP SECRET SUPPLY BAG, contact email@example.com.
Trick-or-Treat at the church on October 24 from 2-3PM. This event will be outside, with social distance, and masks will be required. There will be several stops for kids to collect candy from our volunteers. We will also have a photo station to commemorate their cute costumes. Please RSVP for this event by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling the church office.
Support our Trick-or-Treat event by donating candy. There is a box in the narthex for candy, but you can also bring it to the church office. We will need all candy by October 19th.
Thank you for your support of the mission and ministry of our parish. 2020 has been an unusual year – yet God continues to call us to live into the ministry and mission of the Gospel. Your support helps us to do that. Working together we can end the year strong over these last months. Thank you for your support!
Polka/Oktoberfest Worship Get our your Dirndl or Lederhosen! The Sunday morning worship on October 18th will be our Polka/Oktoberfest worship! Join in the joy of the “uhm papa” as we praise God using polka music. Live in person or online.
WISH BOARD NEED: We need to replace the current sound board in the sanctuary to a digital sound board. With the new video equipment almost in place, we now recognize that we need the digital sound board to properly function with the cameras. The estimated cost should be under $3500. If you are interested in assisting with this as a memorial or honorarium let the church office know!
Technical Difficulty: This past Sunday we experienced a technical difficulty in our life streaming of the Sunday morning worship. The video had no sound. We have found the problem and have resolved it. The 5:30 pm worship service was live streamed and archived with sound. Please join us this coming Sunday again!
HOME Holy Communion Package: As we have entered into a time of observing weekly communion virtually in our homes, you may contact the Church Office to receive a package of wafers for the celebration of Holy Communion. A bag with a month’s supply will be brought out to your car while observing safe practices. Luther reminds us that the sacrament is valid when we trust the promise of Christ in the sacrament. And, as we confess belief in the communion of saints, we trust God’s presence in our virtual gatherings for worship. Please contact the Church Office as 409-762-8477 to arrange for your package of wafers.
