Mask Update - Church Council met last night and the decision was made to remove the mask requirement for the sanctuary. With the decrease in the number of positives and hospitalizations for our county, the Council felt that this was the right decision. The Council does recommend if you are unvaccinated to wear a mask.  If you will be working with children we ask that you wear a mask as children under the age of 12 are not approved for vaccination yet.

Oktoberfest Sign Up Sheets are in the Narthex.  There is something for everyone.  If you don't want to be in the crowds, we have a kitchen job that would keep you inside. If you need a sit down job, Ticket Booths and Kids Area could use your help. The Food Booth is going to need a lot of volunteers.  The Beer Booth is fast paced and is always a fun time. Take a moment to sign up as we cannot to Oktoberfest without you.

Pre-Oktoberfest Dinner- The Men's Club will be hosting a dinner on October 10th after service in memory of Carroll Elfstrom. This dinner is to get us in the Oktoberfest spirit.

Hold the Date: The Bach Society of Houston will offer an organ spectacular on Saturday, November 6, at 3:30 pm in the main sanctuary of Frist Lutheran. "2 Organs, 4 Hands, 4 Feet" will be offered in memory of Harold Matthias, a former member of Christ the King Lutheran, Houston, and a descendant of First Lutheran, Galveston. This will be a fun celebratory spectacular for all ages.

All Saints Sunday: In preparation for All Saints Sunday, you are invited to submit photos of those who have died in the last year for a display reminding us of the cloud of witnesses that surround us in the faith. Please contact Brandi in the Church Office for more information.

Worship Virtually – Sundays 10:00 am
Worship Safely In Person – Sundays 10:00 am

You are encouraged to join in worship either safely in person or virtually every Sunday.

The Church Council reviewed the COVID-19 numbers for Galveston and Galveston County and changes the policy to masks are highly recommended if you are not vaccinated. This change reflects that we have seen a decrease in the numbers of hospitalized and positive individuals in our county. Please be mindful of the most vulnerable in our midst, as children under the age of 12 are not eligible for the vaccine at this time.

HOME Holy Communion Package: If you need home communion supplies as you worship virtually, please contact the Church Office as 409-762-8477 to arrange for your package of wafers.
