Lent Worship Schedule
Lent Begins with Ash Wednesday on February 17th, with special services at noon and at 6 p.m. Both will include the traditional symbolism for that most solemn day of the church year—the extended confession, the Imposition of Ashes for those who wish to receive them, as well as the observance of the Lord’s Supper.
Lent is a time of “spring cleaning” in the life of the Christian and of the Church. It gives us an opportunity to take stock of our lives, to readjust our focus on what really matters, as well as to renew our faith, commitment, discipline, and devotion, amid the company and support of our fellow Christians.
Other plans include a Midweek Service at 6 p.m., for each of the five subsequent Wednesdays in Lent:
- February 24th
- March 3rd
- March 10th
- March 17th
- March 24th
Our Lenten series will revolve around Great Lutherans Throughout History, including such persons as:
![]() |
Philipp Melanchthon, Luther’s right-hand man who experienced the pains and the privileges of living in the shadow of the giant of the Reformation. |
![]() | Johann Sebastian Bach, musician genius, who translated Luther’s theology and piety into some of the greatest pieces of music ever written. |
![]() | Henry Melchior Muhlenberg, great founder of Lutheranism in America, who wrestled with what it meant to be a Lutheran in a new land surrounded by people of other faiths. |
![]() | Soren Kierkegaard, 19th century Danish philosopher and theologian, founder of Existentialism, who challenged the people of his day, baptized “Lutheran” by the State Church, to actually live out their faith in their daily lives. |
![]() | Dietrich Bonhoeffer, 20th century German pastor and theologian, who was involved in a plot to kill Adolf Hitler and struggled with what it meant to be a Christian in a world gone mad. |
We cordially invite you and yours to each and every one of these services. We hope you will find our congregation welcoming, these topics interesting, and worship inspiring!
All Are Welcome!
